People's point of view of PETA

I love animals and I do think it's unfair for animals to be tortured to death so we can wear them. I decided to go along my house and school and tell them what's really happening and mean people can be with animals.

Crisely Paulino, is one of my classmates in school and I decided to ask her some questions because I see her with Gucci and Louis Vuitton.
Nancy: How much did your Gucci bag cost?
Crisely: $800
Nancy: Oh did you know that Gucci was sending out people to beat the crap out of baby seals just to make some pair of boots?
Crisely: Oh...
After some questions I told my classmate about PETA and how they accomplished their goal of makind GUCCI to stop clubbing baby seals. Many people buy expensive accessories and they don't know where its coming from. Or how those animals get treated and how they live before they die.

Another person who didn't know PETA existed was my mom. I showed her a couple of pictures and videos of how animals get treated in fur farms and how cruel people can be. She thought PETA was a good organization and wish them the best of luck. But she said "people can't just stop buying leather its something we need to keep us warm and almost everything is made out of animals, if leather or other type of clothing didn't exist what are we supposed to wear."

I suppose not a lot of people are going to change their mind about to stop wearing animals but one thing for sure some people agree on is to not wear fur but to wear leather, and it pretty much sounds the same. But people have different beliefs and maybe oneday they'll wake up and realize how animals get beatten and skinned alive.

WHAT ARTISTS ARE INVOLVED WITH PETA?

WHAT ARTISTS ARE INVOLVED WITH PETA?

Many artists these days believe that animals don't deserve to be eaten and not be worn. Many of them have been on the cover of PETA magazines and have said that they will rather go naked.

For example, Tommy Lee declared "Ink, not mink", in the new ad for PETA. He says, "Be comfortable in your own skin and let the animals keep their." Tommy Lee learned about PETA from a longtime friend, Pamela Anderson, another famous artist. Another famous artist involved with PETA is Eva Mendes, she says that she'd rather get naked than wear fur. Therefore, she posed nude for PETA's ani-fur campaign. http://www.furisdead.com/feat_eva_mendes.asp Eva says that she knows how animals are mistreated in fur farms and she doesn't feel like wearing a dead animal over her body.

Many artists these days do wear fur just to look "fresh" but how can somebody look fresh with a dead animal over their body. But on the other hand many artists have different opinions about animals and have joined PETA and many people have changed their mind with the help of these artists. Its like if somebody who's big does something big the smaller big also wants to do the big thing.

GOVERNMENT WITH PETA

GOVERNMENT WITH PETA

If the government actually put attention to PETA maybe people would change their point of views. The government can allow PETA members to protest and show videos on TV how these animals are treated. But instead the government is too busy with the war and spending billions of dollars on the war.

There's a group called NAIA, National Animal Interest Alliance is calling upon the government to revoke the tax-exempt status of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) because of its support for individuals and organizations that engage in illegal activities and violence. http://www.the-aps.org/pa/action/news/peta.htm

In most countries the government requires some animal based toxicity testing as a condition for the importation or sale of pesticides, industrial chemicals, drugs and vaccines, genetically manipulated foods, and some consumer products. http://www.peta.org/MC/factsheet_display.asp?ID=125 Also animals in the U.S. are being injected with substances like Botox until they become paralyzed and suffocate, even though there are modern, non-animal methods to test the deadly neurotoxin. The government has failed to take action to approve these humane methods.

PETA is pressuring world governments, both individually and through international consortia such as the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and the International Conference on Harmonization, to take steps to reduce their reliance on animal testing by becoming more involved in the development and use of sophisticated non-animal test methods. Also PETA makes activities, that are supposedly "violent", but if they don't make up these activities they won't be heard.

Many people do activities so the government can do something about it and so far nothing is being accomplished. Therefore, PETA would not give up and still be "violent" until the government can pay attention.

SHOULD PETA EXIST

SHOULD PETA EXIST

YES PETA should exist because if PETA didn't exist many humans won't realize whats going on. PETA should exist because if PETA gets enough supporters many things can get accomplished.

For example, one of the most famous brands in the world like GUCCI, were killing baby seals for their fur.http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/gucci_fur Innocent baby seals were used for boots and from the help of many members of PETA GUCCI has agreed to stop selling seal fur. Thousands of other wounded pups (estimates range from 15,000 to 150,000 per year) manage to escape the hunters but die later of their injuries or drown after falling off the ice (pups younger than about 5 weeks cannot swim). The seals are hunted chiefly for their pelts, which are exported to Norway, Finland, Hong Kong, Turkey, Russia, and other countries, where they are used to make expensive designer-label coats and accessories. Among the major vendors of these products are the Italian fashion-wear companies Gucci, Prada, and Versace.

PETA is an important group because many humans in the world need to realize how important they are and they have the same feelings as us humans. Its very brutal and unbelievable how humans treat animals this way. PETA has accomplished many goals and they are in the future witht the support from 1.8 million members.

WHY MY TOPIC IS PETA

My topic is PETA because I think that humans should stop using animals fur for coats, shoes, etc. For those of you who don't know what PETA stands for, it means People for the Ethnical Treatment of Animals. PETA is an animal rights organization based in the United States. With 1.8 million members and supporters, PETA claims to be the largest animal rights group in the world.
I think what they're protesting for is right. Animals don't deserve to be treated the way they are now. For humans behavior many animals are extinct and soon there might not be enough animals in the world. Many innocent animals are killed for clothing which many people cant afford.

I never really put much attention how innocent animals are tortured to death. In order to keep the fur looking nice, trappers usually strangle, beat, or stomp them to death. Imagine seeing that with your own eyes and hearing them cry and those innocent eyes just staring at you. Also animals in fur farms may be gassed, electrocuted, poisoned with strychnine, or have their necks snapped. These methods may not be effective and sometimes animals wake up while being skinned. It's sad because when animals are trapped they know where they're going and sometimes they kill themselves by chewing of their legs and bleeding to death.

I don't think that my blog is going to decrease the death of innocent animals. But I want to demonstrate what PETA is doing and what are they trying to accomplish and what should be accomplished. Maybe somebody who reads this blog can become a member for PETA and realize how innocent animals are tortured in fur farms and realize that they also have feelings.
